My husband, being a previous owner and great advocate of Bouviers, was the one who initially
introduced me to the idea of bringing a Bouvier into our family. In 1995, we lost our cocker-terrier
mix of 17 years, and after two years of convincing and research, I agreed to take the next step and go
see a Bouvier first-hand. In 1997, after going to The Detroit Kennel Club Show at Cobo Hall, and seeing
what they looked like in real life, I was convinced to get my first Bouvier (even though my first thought
was "the hair, lots of hair"). Armed with need-to-knows from breeders about them being non-shedding, and
hypoallergenic (there may be a few "dust bunnies" on the floor when they need brushing or grooming); I knew
this breed would be the perfect new family member. One thing everyone told me was that once you own a bouvier, you'll
always want and have one. I can see now that I waited too long before I got my first bouvier; I now have
three and will never again go without one.
As you will find, browsing through our pictures, our bouviers are family to us. We care for them as we
care for and love our five children and six grandchildren. Our females and the males they breed to are
health certified. These health certifications are obtained through the Orthopedic Foundation of Animals
(OFA), for hips, elbows, thyroid, and heart. Their eyes are tested by a board certified Ophthalmologist
and registered through the Canine Eye Registration Foundation (CERF). Along with health, good sound
temperaments are very important. The puppies are whelped in their own bedroom, right next to ours. At about
3 weeks old (or when they start escaping from the whelping pen), they are moved into the kitchen where they are
socialized and become accustomed to the different sounds of a busy household. The new puppy you obtain from us
will give you the love and loyalty that the breed is known for. Our puppies are sent home with a written guarantee
and registered with both the American Kennel Club and the United Kennel Club. This registration will enable you the
opportunity to participate in various activities if you choose to do so. We hope you enjoy browsing through our
pictures as much as we take pleasure in capturing them.
